Northampton Museum and Art Gallery welcomed a joint book launch by local authors Dennis Meredith and Peter Dietrich on Saturday.
Held in the elegant surrounds of the museum’s atrium, the event brought together writers, artists, and readers for a warm celebration of local creativity. Among the guests was the Mayoress of Northampton, who was seen deep in conversation with artist Fiona Jenney, whose striking illustrations bring Peter Dietrich’s story, Flossy and the Tiger, to life.
The event also welcomed Flossy, the young girl whose story inspired the book’s creation.

Speaking at the launch, former Mayor Dennis Meredith said, “It’s been a rewarding journey publishing my fourth novel. I love creating novels; from the first idea to seeing the finished book. I hope to soon go on tour with my new book.”
Author Peter Dietrich added, “We wanted to capture something honest and hopeful, and to see people respond like this today makes it all worthwhile.”
The launch concluded with signings and conversations over refreshments in the museum’s café surrounded by the museum’s ever-popular art displays.
Book lovers will be glad to know that another Book Fair is planned at the museum on Saturday 25 October, promising more opportunities to meet local authors and discover Northamptonshire’s thriving literary scene.
