Northamptonshire’s food and drink scene is preparing for one of its biggest celebrations of the year as Northamptonshire Food & Drink Week returns from Friday 29 May to Sunday 8 June.
Bringing together restaurants, pubs, cafés, colleges, producers, brewers and growers from across the county, the ten-day festival promises a busy programme of special menus, tasting events, collaborations and foodie experiences.
The ever-popular Delapré Food & Drink Festival, which is expected to draw crowds from across the region, with artisan producers, street food, live entertainment and family-friendly attractions all set within the grounds of Delapré Abbey.
Another highlight comes from Earls Barton favourite Jeyes, where a brand-new collaboration celebrating Northamptonshire’s shoemaking heritage is launching during Food & Drink Week.
The specially created “Life & Sole” menu has been developed alongside Northampton Cheese Company and Phipps Brewery Company, pairing locally produced cheeses inspired by the county’s famous boot and shoe industry with some of Northamptonshire’s best-loved ales.
The menu will officially launch during Food & Drink Week before continuing throughout the summer at The Apothocoffee Shop.
Elsewhere across the county, food lovers can look forward to the Northampton County Beer Festival alongside a special four-course lunch experience at Northampton College’s The Lane Restaurant, prepared by Culinary Arts students.
This year’s event is also helping to spark new partnerships between local hospitality businesses and suppliers. Delta by Marriott Northampton has been working with local names including Revival Rum, Stonyfield Wine and Northampton Cheese Company, all of which will feature on menus for the first time during the celebrations.
Organised by the Northamptonshire Tourism Business Network and Made In Northamptonshire, the annual event continues to champion the county’s thriving independent food and drink sector.
Wilson Browne Solicitors return as headline sponsors for the third consecutive year.
Wayne Jenkins, Business Development and Marketing Director at Wilson Browne Solicitors, said:
“Northamptonshire Food & Drink Week is one of our favourite times of the year — a chance to celebrate the incredible talent, innovation and community spirit across the county. We can’t wait to enjoy ten fantastic days of food, drink and discovery.”
With events taking place across Northamptonshire from 29 May to 8 June, organisers are encouraging residents and visitors to discover new venues, support local businesses and experience the very best of the county’s food and drink scene.
