This pre-loved treasure trove is opening a new workshop to restore vintage pieces to their former glory.
Tucked away on Cecil Road in Northampton, Moo’s Emporium may be small in size, but it’s big on characterful finds—and is launching a brand-new workshop space.

From aeroplane clocks to vintage CD racks
Moo’s Emporium sells a bit of everything – from second-hand electrical items and unique pieces of furniture to home décor and gardening equipment and furniture.
“It’s stuffed with characterful pieces; a real treasure trove,” says business owner Zac Payne.
One visit might reveal a striking canvas in the style of Banksy, a mid-century vintage bookshelf, or a mighty flying aeroplane clock that instantly catches your eye.
It’s the sort of place you come in for a mooch and leave with a couple of pieces tucked under your arm.

People love the thrill of never knowing what they will find. We have new stock coming in every day, so there’s always a fresh surprise.

Born from Zac’s house clearance and removal business, Moos Emporium is a year old.
Zac and his team of three source many items from house clearances and removals, as well as buying specific pieces they know customers will love. Their aim is simple: to save perfectly good items from going to landfill and give them a second life.
Brand new Restoration and Upcycling Workshop
Zac has just taken on a new workshop in Semilong, where he and his team will start restoring and upcycling vintage furniture and goods.

“We’re going to carefully restore antique and vintage items back to their former glory, whilst more modern furniture will be painted and creatively upcycled,” he says. “The new workshop is already filling up with furniture waiting for its transformation.”
Reducing the environmental impact
The business also helps reduce the environmental footprint.
“By recycling and upcycling pre-loved pieces instead of sending them to landfill, we reduce waste, conserve natural resources, and cut down on the energy and emissions associated with manufacturing new items,” he adds.
Back Seat Beginnings
Zac’s entrepreneurial journey started four years ago from the back seat of a car.
He started selling items on eBay from a car with the seats stripped out. As the pieces got bigger, so did his ambition: a van came next, then a shop – and now, a workshop too.
Current Finds
Among the current highlights in store is an Ercol corner unit in beautifully coloured mid-century teak, vintage bookcases originally exported from Indonesia, an old sewing machine full of history, a CD unit designed in the style of a bookcase, and a hand-made industrial clock that would look perfect in a loft-style apartment.

There are treasures everywhere – and you often need to walk around twice to make sure you haven’t missed anything.
A Day in the Life at Moo’s Emporium
A typical day for Zac involves cleaning and sorting stock, heading out on full house moves or clearances, and hunting for the next great find. No two days are ever the same – and that’s exactly how he likes it. An entrepreneur at heart, Zac enjoys the independence of running his own business and the freedom to turn ideas into action. He now has a team of three staff helping him as the business continues to grow.
Moo’s Emporium proudly serves the Northampton community. “We’re not in London – we’re in Northampton,” Zac says. “So we price for our market accordingly. Compared to London prices, the shop offers real value while still delivering quality and character.”

Full of hidden gems and friendly service, Moo’s Emporium proves that one person’s unwanted item can become someone else’s perfect find.
